Case 040525
Date: 4/5/25
Location: Old Stone Jail Cambria County Pa
Investigators: 5 team members attended, and this is a small location that is very wide open, with sound bleeding through floors.
Weather: Rainy, windy, damp, and chilly.
Noise: The location is on a main road in the downtown area, and outside noise does leak in. There is a bar across the road, which often has loud patrons.
There were no remarkable baseline EMF readings.
Structure: Dirt floors in basement/dungeon. Steep steps, metal walkways, and wind leakage due to some holes in the roof. The higher up you go in the building, the more sound from outside that bleeds in due to roofing issues. The building is made from Sandstone. There was current water damage/flooding.
This was one of our final investigations in 2024 and our first in 2025.
Evidence: Again, we captured some interesting things. The dungeon had all of our devices going off, which included a Melmeter, EMF detector, and a Response Box for yes or no answers. We did capture this, but we are not confident in the cause. Further investigations are needed to repeat the behavior. The spirit box is quite active at this location, with times too many voices speak so you can’t hear anything decipherable. Recordings of sessions present the same problems.
We captured what we believe is a female scream. We also captured what we believe is a long male scream. A few low-grade EVP were also captured as simple one-word responses.
We did a Luminal experiment in the cafeteria to see if we could find blood. (We asked permission to use) Under black light, we were able to see quite a bit. Pictures do not do it justice.
Perhaps the most interesting piece of evidence we captured is the same event at the same time that we captured 6 months ago at our last visit. With a camera left in the dungeon and no team members there, this has occurred twice. At approximately 12:02 AM, a knock is heard, with a female voice following it that consists of 3 syllables that we believe are “who is it”. We feel this is pretty strong evidence of residual activity. We plan to pursue this specific event the next time we visit.
Conclusions: We love Old Stone Jail and the staff there. We are interested in pursuing the Stone Tape theory and capturing the residual activity on more cameras and audio.
